Lakeview Baptist Church – The Church Journey

I had the privilege to visit Lakeview Baptist Church. I wasn’t able to find history on this church, So I copied a very wonderfully articulated post, dated July 27, 2020, from the church’s Facebook website. The author is unknown possibly pastor Donnie, whoever; they are blessed with wonderful writing skills.

“When you listen to the world’s system you believe everything is falling apart and soon depression and despair becomes your constant companion. But I just want to tell you that the sunsets are still as beautiful as ever, the sunrise is still an amazing thing to view. The streams in the great Smoky Mountains National Park still run as cold and as clear as the first day God created them. “[1]

“The smile of a baby still brings warmth to your soul; a sight of a long-lost friend still brings excitement in the air and the joy of true love once found can still last for eternity. Above all, God still cares for His own, He still guards your doors, He still marks and directs your daily footsteps and He still loves you and everything about you so deeply that He counts the hairs on your head. If you are not saved you definitely have something to fret over, but if you are a born from above Child of the King, and the birds are still singing and the lilies of the field are still growing… God will keep holding you in His strong hand! “[1]

MY JOURNEY:

I found this church during a drive to find a good fishing spot. The church is located about a quarter mile from the Little River, which is linked to the Tennessee River. During my research I did not find any history related to this church, but I found some inspirational posts on the church website. Every church on this journey provides a different experience, and once again I was blessed visiting this church. If you have time, I encourage you to visit their Facebook site listed below.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

It’s great to know that God still marks and directs our daily footsteps. The key to finding comfort from this is having faith and believing in the Good News that Jesus died for our sins and made a way for us to be right with God and spend eternity in heaven.

Faith causes us to act on what we haven’t experienced yet, to believe promises in the Bible that haven’t been fulfilled yet, and to trust God when our situations haven’t changed yet. When we allow the reality of the Gospel to affect every part of our lives, it changes the way we think and how we see the world around us.
